Pemba Rubber Stamps Does it Again
In 1980 a young man who was working in the Accounts Department of an International organisation decided to venture into business. In order to operate legally, though at a small scale, he decided to register the company with the Registrar’s General Office. In November 1980, the company to-day known as PEMBA RUBBER STAMP was registered at a fee of sixty five tambala.
The company was founded by its proprietor, Mr Matthew Pemba and opened its doors on 1st April 1981. The newly born company had no premises and had to operate from the founders residential bedseater house, in one of the townships in Blantyre. Later on, a certain company in the city centre of Blantyre offered us a small space, free from rentals and we accepted the offer, said Pemba. The company is now occupying a shop, in the ground floor, of Fatima Arcade, in Blantyre and a branch in the first floor of Moosa House, in Lilongwe.
Pemba Rubber Stamp has made some strides in the business circle, having been Locally and Internationally recognised. Internationally, Pemba Rubber Stamp was accorded, “THE INTERNATIONAL GOLD AWARD WINNER, in 1993, for Quality and Service, in Paris, France and recently they were appointed as the Official Dealer of all Trodat products in Malawi. As an official Dealer of Trodat products, Pemba Rubber Stamp has benefited a lot, as they are entitled to attend a number of engagements and conferences which are organised by Trodat outside the Country. Last year, they were invited to attend the International launch of the World’s first Multi-Colour rubber stamp making machinery, which was held at the Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton City, South Africa. They also attended Trodat International Conference, which was held at Kwa Maritane, near Sun City in South Africa. They are also entitled to hoist a joint Trodat-Pemba Rubber Stamp corporate flag in all their offices and branches through-out the country. In order to meet International standards, members of staff are trained outside the country, courtesy of Trodat, said Pemba.
Locally, Pemba Rubber Stamp, in May this year (2006), won a Gold Award, at the 18th Malawi International Trade Fair, which was held in Blantyre.
The proprietor of Pemba Rubber Stamp, Mr Matthew Pemba, studied Printing at the Malawi Polytechnic for four years and also went to Singapore to study the “Word of God,” at Haggai Institute.
Finally, as we celebrate 25 years of our operation in this Country, we would wholeheartedly like to thank all our valued customers, who have given us support through-out these years and promise to supply them with only the best. ZIKOMO KWAMBIRI, concluded Pemba. |
